Ground Operations Safety and Compliance Manager
Based in BUD – Office
Purpose of the position:
The Ground Operations Safety and Compliance Manager reports to the Senior Manager Safety on safety matters and to Compliance Manager on compliance matters.

Responsibilities:
Ground Operations Safety and Compliance Manager is responsible on safety for:
- Taking part in development and maintenance of Wizz Air’s Safety Management System
- Monitoring industry legislation changes, safety trends relating to ground operations and initiating risk
- mitigation actions as required
- Performing mandatory reporting to EASA and safety investigations if required
- Processing safety reports related to ground operations, creating and distributing actions
- Representing ground operations safety at the Safety team, SAG and SRB meetings
- Analysing trends and issuing safety recommendations related to ground operations
- Managing safety projects and risk mitigation of safety issues (hazards) assigned
- Contributing to safety bulletins, weekly ground operations safety reports and other safety
- communications
- Close cooperation with Ground Operations department, including regular meetings and tracking of
- Safety Performance Indicators
- Actively participates on Ground Operations Safety Action Group meetings
- Performing risk assessments and managing the hazard log for Ground Operations
- Contributing to safety bulletins and other safety communications
- Participating in internal and external safety-related cross-functional projects
- Performing safety trainings for operations personnel as assigned
- Ground Operations Safety and Compliance Manager is responsible on compliance for:
- Monitoring industry legislation changes, compliance trends relating to ground operations and
- initiating compliance actions as required
- Designs and monitors the execution of the audit and inspection plans for Ground Operations
- Executing full scale supplier (organizational) audits, audit reporting and follow-up and ORG audits/
- inspections as assigned;
- Administration of the completion of the Ground Operations audit plan
- Participating in internal and external compliance related cross-functional projects
- Contributing to development of Wizz Air’s Compliance Monitoring Program
- Ensuring the systematic review and data validation relevant to finding management in particular
- CA/PA and implementation evidence management
- Managing audits by external / contracted auditors (including IFQP, DAQCP and WLD)
- Performing compliance trainings for Ground Operations Team and external auditors as assigned.
Skills and Competencies
- Good knowledge of SMS and compliance monitoring principles and requirements (EASA, ICAO, IOSA);
- Significant experience in SMS (including risk management) and compliance monitoring
- Previous work experience in aviation safety, compliance, air carrier operations
- Experience in management of complex projects;
- PC user skills at advanced level (MS Office);
- Experience with SMS software and tools;
- Good presentation skills;
- Data analysis skills and good knowledge of statistics;
- Analytical skills, creativity;
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of safety management principles;
- Significant experience in Safety Management Systems and risk management;
- Previous work experience in ground operation, safety, compliance or quality control.
