Manager – Aircraft Technician Education & Development
At Lufthansa Technik Budapest, we believe in excellence, innovation, and continuous growth. As Manager of Aircraft Technician Education & Development, you will lead the full journey of technician training and career progression — from initial Basic Aviation Training to licensed Aircraft Technician status. You’ll be at the heart of our internal training school, managing a team of expert trainers who deliver both theoretical and practical aviation-specific and aircraft type-specific programs, while inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals. Besides the trainers, all trainees report directly to you until they reach the necessary authorization level and transition to production. Training content and planning are closely coordinated with the Quality Training Department and Production Management.
Your Mission
- Lead and continuously improve our internal Basic Aviation Training program.
- Define recruitment criteria and support candidate selection in collaboration with HR.
- Represent LTB at schools, job fairs, and recruitment events.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive skill matrix for production roles.
- Design structured development plans and coordinate On-the-Job Training.
- Oversee training programs and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Support career pathing, succession planning, and employee growth.
- Collaborate closely with Production, HR, and Quality & Training departments.
- Lead the internal training school and act as disciplinary leader for all trainees until they reach corporate authorization.
- Lead, manage and mentor the training school staff.
- Drive continuous improvement and change initiatives within the education program.
- Develop and implement innovative training strategies aligned with future industry needs.
- Act as a role model with integrity for the next generation of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians.
What You Bring
- University degree in engineering or economics.
- 3–5 years of experience in aviation, ideally in training or production-related roles.
- Knowledge of EASA Part-145 and/or Part-147 regulations.
- Excellent communication skills tailored to different generations and functions within the company.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and support others.
- Proven ability to cooperate effectively and manage diverse stakeholders.
- Conflict management skills and emotional intelligence.
- Fluent in Hungarian and English (written and oral).
