A British Airways leányvállalata, az OpenSkies a gazdasági helyzetre való tekintettel október 28-tól megszűnteti a Washington (Dulles) – Párizs (Orly) járatát. A légitársaság másik transzatlanti járata, a New York (Newark) – Párizs (Orly) tovább üzemel.

British Airways subsidiary OpenSkies has announced plans to suspend one of its two transatlantic routes. The airline will cease operating Washington Dulles-Paris Orly service Oct. 28. It will continue to operate Newark-ORY service.
“We have seen a strong impact of the continued economic situation on business travel, which is particularly the case for the Washington DC–Paris market,” OpenSkies commercial and marketing director David Erich said. “If we sense that the economic or competitive situation changes, we could be looking at coming back.”
The carrier, in operation since June 2008, operates a fleet of four Boeing 757-200s. It declined to comment on whether the route closure would result in the divestiture of any aircraft.
